Wardrobe Expectations

At Dance Studio Extreme we always do our best, and part of that is looking our best!

All dance gear required for class is available to purchase at the studio in our store.

We are Extreme

Dress Code

All athletes at DSE are expected to respect and adhere to all dress code expectations.

Stretch and Strength

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces. 


Form fitted tops and bottoms such as leggings, shorts, or jazz pants. 


Shorts should be spandex, not loose around seams of legs to ensure modesty during kicks and stretches. 

 

If dancers prefer to work out with tennis shoes on, they must be completely clean on the bottom and NEVER WORN OUTSIDE the dance floor. Most exercises will be performed better barefoot or dance shoes. 

Bitties Combination

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces.  


Leotard - any color/style


Tights -pink, black, or nude/tan

("convertible" tights preferred)


No underwear of any kind should be visible.  


Skirts and/or shorts are allowed with tights and leotards, but may be asked to be removed for visibility of body movement and placement. 


Pink ballet shoes (leather preferred)


Tap shoes can be of any style (patent, leather, elastic, or lace up). Black tap shoes will be required for performances. 

Ballet

Hair - pulled back into a secure bun


Leotard - any color/style


Tights -pink, black, or nude/tan

("convertible" tights preferred)


Pink ballet shoes (leather preferred)

Jazz

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces. 


Form fitted tops and bottoms such as leggings, shorts, or jazz pants. 


Shorts should be spandex, not loose around seams of legs to ensure modesty during kicks and stretches. 


Black or tan leather jazz shoes. 


Lyrical/Contemporary

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces. 


Form fitted dance clothing, appropriate and comfortable. Such as, leggings, leotard with tights and shorts, sports bra, sweat pants, etc. Shorts should be spandex, not loose around seams of legs to ensure modesty during kicks and stretches. 


Skin color, lyrical shoes also known as "turners" or foot thongs, jazz shoes, or barefoot. 

Tap

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces. 


Dancers should wear comfortable work out clothes of any style. (leggings, shorts, tanks, t-shirts, etc.)


Pants cannot be so long that they get caught underneath the tap shoes. 


Tap shoes can be of any style (patent, leather, elastic, or lace up). Black tap shoes will be required for performances. 

Hip Hop

Hair needs to be pulled back out of dancers' faces. 


Comfortable and appropriate work out clothes that dancers can move in.


Tennis shoes or sneakers must be completely clean on the bottom and NEVER WORN OUTSIDE the dance floor. 


Please dedicate these sneakers to dance class and do not allow them to be worn elsewhere or played in. Even getting out of the car and coming into the studio. 


Shoes should be changed when they get to the studio space.
