HIP-HOP AND BALLET

**NEW CLASS**
THURS. 5:30-6:20 / Adults ONLY.
Choreography instruction for moms, grandmas, or anyone that deserves an hour to themselves once a week to spend time in a fun, confidence boosting environment.
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Up beat, repetitive, body isolation movements with some cardio (that doesn't feel like cardio), and stretching that will match your ability level.
Choreography- A few 8 counts will be taught weekly/bi-weekly. The primary genre of dance focus is "commercial jazz," which is upbeat, fun movement with some technique. Other genres may be explored based on group interest.
Cool down- Stretching is done at the beginning and end of each class to prioritize recovery for our bodies.
Dress Code:
Comfortable work out attire. Sneakers, Pilates socks, or barefoot. Please be respectful of our dance floor and do not wear shoes into class that are worn outside.

FRI. 5:30-6:15 BEGINNER (5+yrs) &
FRI. 6:15-7:00 INTERMEDIATE (10+yrs)
(5-10 yrs INVITE ONLY to INT level)
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Cardio, core, and stretching that will develop the athletes and prepare them for the technical focus for the day.
Jumps- Cheer jumps practice and exercises for improving strength and technique.
Tumbling- Differentiated Instruction for each level of athlete. Starting with forward rolls and working all the way up to handsprings and tucks.
Choreography- Only taught in preparation for performances and will be pom style that may include some turns or jazz technique.
Stunting- Stunting basics will be taught based on group experience and interest.
Dress Code:
Comfortable work out attire. Sneakers, Pilates socks, or barefoot. Please be respectful of our dance floor and do not wear shoes into class that are worn outside.
We have roll out foam mats and an inflatable air track for tumbling practices.

TUES. 5:30-6:15
Dancers 3-4 yrs old.
*MUST be potty trained & able to adhere to class structure independently.
Our goal is to help your toddlers grow and develop by providing opportunities for confidence building through performance.
Class structure:
Intro to movement & dance through a variety of genres including: Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Tumbling, Jazz, Lyrical
Warm Up- stretches, kid friendly workouts,
Technique- Center floor instruction, & across the floor technique application.
Choreography- this genre focus varies from week to week.
Dress Code:
Tights, leotard, ballet shoes, tap shoes.
Skirts/shorts encouraged but please make clothing selections that will reduce dancer distractions in class.
Hair pulled back out of face.

WED. 5:30-6:20 BEGINNER (5+yrs) &
THURS. 7:15-8:00 INTERMEDIATE (10+yrs)

Description:
Our goal is to develop well-rounded dancers that can adapt to a variety of music with texture, flow, groove, and energy.
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Cardio, isolations, & stretches
Technique- Always integrated into our warm ups & applied through repetition as center floor, or across the floor progressions.
Choreography- Rotates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or based on upcoming performances. Freestyle/cyphers are also used for technique development.
Dress Code:
Sneakers/tennis shoes dedicated to dance class that do NOT get worn outside. (see dress code page). Loose/baggy clothes, or workout clothes that allow for freedom of movement. Style and swag is strongly encouraged. Hair should be pulled out of dancers' faces.

WED. 6:30-7:20 BEGINNER (5+yrs) &
TUES. 7:15-8:30 INTERMEDIATE (10+yrs)

Description:
Ballet is a disciplined dance genre that requires practice outside of class with provided thera bands, including stretching and foot/ankle strength development.
Class Structure:
It is recommended to arrive to ballet at least 5 minutes early to stretch independently.
Warm Up- Core, cardio, feet & ankles
Technique- Barre, vocab, center floor jumps, across the floor leaps and turns.
Choreography- Ballet rarely has a choreography focus unless preparing for an upcoming performance.
Dress Code:
Hair in bun, leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Colors/style are dancers' choice. Warm up/modesty layers are optional but should be form fitting for physical observation.

TUES. 6:30-7:15 INTERMEDIATE (10+yrs)

Description:
Leaps & turns class provides focused stretch & strength training to enhance dancers' abilities in other genres (ballet, jazz, lyrical, cheer), as well as instruction on new techniques to supplement regular classes.
Class Structure:
It is recommended to arrive to ballet at least 5 minutes early to stretch independently.
Warm Up- Core, cardio, feet, & flexibility.
Technique- Center barre and/or stationary jumps & turn preparation.
Across the floor- Also called "progressions." The majority of this class is done in across the floor technique development. Turns, leaps, and other exercises.
Dress Code:
Hair pulled up and back, form fitting work out clothes, lyrical, jazz, or ballet shoes.

WED. 7:30-8:30 (6+yrs)
Description:
Lyrical dance is typically more fluid and driven by emotional storytelling. Our lyrical class utilizes ballet technique with leaps and turns but also incorporates contemporary dance floor work patters.
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Core, cardio, flexibility
Technique- Center floor barre and across the floor progressions.
Choreography- Rotates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or based on upcoming performances. Improv/freestyle is also performed during class.
Dress Code:
Hair pulled back out of face, form fitting, comfortable workout clothes, turners, foot thongs, or barefoot. some experience is preferred but not required.
This class partners well with ballet or leaps and turns classes for technical skills.

THURS. 6:30-7:15 (6+yrs)
Partners well with Leaps & Turns.
Description:
This class is fun and upbeat, and can require a lot of technical ability with leaps and turns. We aim to give dancers an outlet more pop music with sharp, upbeat moves that is entertaining and fun!
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Core, cardio, flexibility
Technique- Center floor barre and across the floor progressions.
Choreography- Rotates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or based on upcoming performances. Improv/freestyle is also performed during class.
Dress Code:
Hair pulled back out of face, form fitting, comfortable workout clothes, jazz shoes or turners/foot thongs, or barefoot.

THURS. 8:00-8:30 (5+yrs)
Description:
Tap dance is like being a drummer with your feet! Our goal is to make every tap dancer familiar with musical counts and phrasing that is essential to rhythm.
Class Structure:
Warm Up- Feet and sound isolations and moderate stretching.
Technique- Essential tap moves and phrases, including music theory.
Choreography- Rotates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or based on upcoming performances. Improv/freestyle is also performed during class.
Dress Code:
Hair pulled back out of face, form fitting, comfortable workout clothes, tap shoes

RECRUITING NOW
Description:
Competitors are expected to attend classes regularly and be leaders and exemplary to EXTREME expectations examples inside and out of the studio. Dancers may choose to compete and can purchase choreography instruction as soloists, or can audition or be invited to our team dances.
Competition levels are based on skill level and hours spent in the studio on a weekly basis. Competition divisions are based on age. Competition genres can include any genre of dance.
Rehearsals are done outside of normal class time on weekends, before or after regular classes, or on holiday.
We participate in competitions in Albuquerque, NM, Amarillo and Lubbock, TX.

Partner lessons can be scheduled for couples to have a fun date night out with a special experience to learn something new.
We teach cha cha, waltz, 2step & more!
We also do special choreography for weddings.

Private and individualized lessons can be scheduled to enhance a dancer's specific techniques.
Theses may be requested by the dancer to accomplish their goals sooner, or by the instructor based on need.

Comfortable workout clothes. Sneakers (no outside shoes), dance shoes, Pilates socks, or barefoot, hair preferably out of face.
